Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil if needed
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp chili powder optional for heat
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 4 –6 hamburger buns toasted
  • Optional toppings: sliced pickles shredded cheese, coleslaw

Instructions
 

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in Dr. Pepper, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.
  • Spoon mixture onto toasted hamburger buns.
  • Add optional toppings like pickles, cheese, or coleslaw. Serve hot
