Ingredients
  

  • For the Teriyaki Sauce:
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water slurry
  • For the Burgers:
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground chicken/turkey
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 pineapple rings grilled or canned
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce & tomato optional toppings

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger.
  • Bring to a simmer, then whisk in cornstarch slurry until thickened. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
  • Grill patties over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side, until cooked through.
  • In the last minute of grilling, add cheese slices on top of patties.
  • Grill pineapple rings for 2 minutes per side until caramelized.
  • Toast burger buns lightly.
  • Assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato, patty, grilled pineapple, and teriyaki sauce.
  • Serve hot with extra teriyaki sauce on the side.
