- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- Basil and parsley to taste
- 9 lasagna sheets homemade or no-boil
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 4 cups milk
- Salt and Italian seasoning
Heat olive oil in a large pot; sauté garlic until golden. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Stir in tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, basil, and parsley. Simmer to make a rich meat sauce.
In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, and gradually add milk to create a smooth béchamel sauce. Season with salt.
Spread a ladle of meat sauce in a baking dish. Layer lasagna noodles, sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat layers 3-4 times.
Top with remaining sauce and cheese. Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes until bubbly and golden. Cool before serving.
