Ingredients
  

  • 300 g spaghetti or penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 800 g canned crushed tomatoes or fresh ripe tomatoes, blended
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil or fresh basil leaves
  • ½ tsp chili flakes optional
  • 1 tsp sugar to balance acidity
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and chopped onion; sauté until translucent and fragrant.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, chili flakes, and sugar.
  • Simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes until the sauce thickens. Stir occasionally.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Add cooked pasta into the sauce and toss well to coat evenly.
  • Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan and fresh herbs.
