Ingredients
  

  • Meat Sauce:
  • 12 oz ground beef
  • 8 oz Italian sausage
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 cans 28 oz each crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cheese Filling:
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Pasta Layers:
  • 12 lasagna noodles cooked al dente

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Meat Sauce: Sauté beef and sausage in olive oil. Add onions and garlic, cook until soft. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Make Cheese Filling: Mix ricotta, Parmesan, mozzarella, egg, and oregano in a bowl.
  • Cook Noodles: Boil lasagna noodles until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  • Assemble Lasagna: In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, and cheese mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.
  • Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden.
  • Rest and Serve: Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before serving.
