Ingredients
  

  • 500 g boneless chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For the Orange Sauce:
  • 1 cup orange juice fresh or store-bought
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water slurry
  • 1 tsp grated orange zest
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions
 

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip into beaten eggs.
  • Deep fry until golden brown and crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • In a saucepan, heat sesame oil and sauté garlic and ginger.
  • Add orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and orange zest. Stir well.
  • Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Toss the fried chicken in the orange sauce until evenly coated.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions (optional).
  • Serve hot with steamed rice.
