- 500 g boneless chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- For the Orange Sauce:
- 1 cup orange juice fresh or store-bought
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water slurry
- 1 tsp grated orange zest
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp ginger minced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Season chicken with salt and pepper.
Coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip into beaten eggs.
Deep fry until golden brown and crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In a saucepan, heat sesame oil and sauté garlic and ginger.
Add orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and orange zest. Stir well.
Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
Toss the fried chicken in the orange sauce until evenly coated.
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions (optional).
Serve hot with steamed rice.
