- Wonton wrappers 24 pieces
- Ground pork 6 oz
- Medium shrimp 8, ground
- Fresh ginger 1 tsp, finely chopped
- Soy sauce 1 tbsp
- Rice wine or dry sherry 1 tbsp
- Light brown sugar 1 tsp
- Chicken stock 6 cups
- Chicken breast sliced
- Spinach fresh
- Scallions 1 tsp, finely chopped
- Mushrooms and water chestnuts optional
- Sesame oil and white pepper to taste
Prepare Filling: Mix pork, shrimp, ginger, soy sauce, rice wine, and sugar in a bowl.
Assemble Wontons: Add filling to wrappers, wet edges, fold, and seal.
Cook Wontons: Boil chicken stock and cook wontons for 4-5 minutes until they float.
Add Ingredients: Add chicken slices, spinach, and optional mushrooms or chestnuts.
Season and Serve: Add sesame oil and white pepper. Garnish with scallions and serve hot.
