- 1 chuck roast 3–4 lbs
- 1 packet of Au Jus gravy mix
- 1 packet of dry ranch dressing mix
- 5 –6 pepperoncini peppers
- 1 stick ½ cup unsalted butter
- Optional Add-ins:
- 2 whole onions
- 6 –8 whole carrots
- Garlic cloves
- Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil for searing
- Beef broth or red wine for extra moisture
- Fresh rosemary and thyme
Slow Cooker Method:
Place the chuck roast in your slow cooker.
Sprinkle the Au Jus gravy mix and ranch dressing mix over the roast.
Top with butter and arrange the pepperoncini peppers around it.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Dutch Oven Method:
Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).
Prepare the roast as above, placing all ingredients into the Dutch oven.
Cover and cook in the oven for 4–5 hours.
Instant Pot Method:
Use the sauté function to brown the roast on both sides.
Add the seasoning mixes, butter, and pepperoncini.
Seal the lid and cook on high pressure for 60 minutes.
Let the pressure release naturally.
