- 500 g boneless chicken thighs or breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp sesame oil optional
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Prepare the chicken: In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Cook the chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan or wok over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove and set aside.
Make the sticky sauce: In the same pan, add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and water. Whisk and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Combine: Return cooked chicken to the pan and toss well to coat in the sticky sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the glaze clings to the chicken.
Finish and serve: Drizzle sesame oil, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
