Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Raspberry or apricot jam
  • Optional: chopped nuts pecans, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Add egg yolk and vanilla extract, then beat until smooth.
  • Gradually mix in flour and salt until dough forms.
  • Form 1-inch dough balls and roll in chopped nuts if using.
  • Place on baking sheet and press a small well into each.
  • Fill wells with jam and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  • Cool on a wire rack before serving.
