Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk or substitute: milk + lemon juice/vinegar

  • Incorporate Butter: Add cold butter cubes and blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add Buttermilk: Stir in buttermilk gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Shape Dough: Turn dough onto a floured surface, pat to 1-inch thickness, and cut with a biscuit cutter.
  • Bake: Arrange biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Serve: Optionally, brush with melted butter before serving.
