Ingredients
  

  • 1 chuck roast 3–4 lbs
  • 1 packet of Au Jus gravy mix
  • 1 packet of dry ranch dressing mix
  • 5 –6 pepperoncini peppers
  • 1 stick ½ cup unsalted butter
  • Optional Add-ins:
  • 2 whole onions
  • 6 –8 whole carrots
  • Garlic cloves
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for searing
  • Beef broth or red wine for extra moisture
  • Fresh rosemary and thyme

Instructions
 

  • Slow Cooker Method:
  • Place the chuck roast in your slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the Au Jus gravy mix and ranch dressing mix over the roast.
  • Top with butter and arrange the pepperoncini peppers around it.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Dutch Oven Method:
  • Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).
  • Prepare the roast as above, placing all ingredients into the Dutch oven.
  • Cover and cook in the oven for 4–5 hours.
  • Instant Pot Method:
  • Use the sauté function to brown the roast on both sides.
  • Add the seasoning mixes, butter, and pepperoncini.
  • Seal the lid and cook on high pressure for 60 minutes.
  • Let the pressure release naturally.
