Ingredients
  

  • 35 oz fresh cranberries rinsed and sorted
  • 1/2 orange seeds removed, ends trimmed (unpeeled)
  • 1 apple cored and cut into four pieces
  • 18 oz granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Add cranberries to the saucepan, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Adjust heat if necessary and cook for 5-10 minutes.
  • Incorporate the remaining ingredients – orange, apple, sugar, white vinegar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for an additional 10 minutes over low heat.
  • Stir the mixture regularly to achieve the desired texture – chunky or smoother, depending on preference.
  • Remove from heat and let the relish cool.
  • Once cooled, transfer the relish to jars or an airtight container and refrigerate.
