- 1/2 orange seeds removed, ends trimmed (unpeeled)
- 1 apple cored and cut into four pieces
- 18 oz granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. 
- Add cranberries to the saucepan, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Adjust heat if necessary and cook for 5-10 minutes. 
- Incorporate the remaining ingredients – orange, apple, sugar, white vinegar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for an additional 10 minutes over low heat. 
- Stir the mixture regularly to achieve the desired texture – chunky or smoother, depending on preference. 
- Remove from heat and let the relish cool. 
- Once cooled, transfer the relish to jars or an airtight container and refrigerate.
