  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Zax Sauce see recipe below

Zax Sauce:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

For serving:

  • Lettuce chopped
  • Tomatoes diced
  • Pickles sliced
  • Ranch dressing

Instructions

  • Use the knife and cut the chicken breasts into 1-2 inch strips. Put the Chicken strips into a large bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Marinate this at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • In a shallow dish, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet or deep fryer with enough vegetable oil to reach a depth of at least 2 inches. Heat the oil to 350°F.
  • Remove the chicken strips from the buttermilk and coat them in the flour mixture.
  • Carefully place the coated chicken strips into the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the breading is golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, mustard, honey, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to make the Zax Sauce.
  • Serve the chicken fingers with the Zax Sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy!
