Are all of the ingredients ready? Let’s start!
In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, water, egg, and salt to create a tempura batter and set aside. Dip the chicken strips into the batter, making sure they are well coated.
Heat a deep fryer or a large, deep pot filled with oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
Dip the battered chicken strips into the panko breadcrumbs, making sure they are evenly coated.
Carefully place the breaded chicken strips into the hot oil and fry for 4-5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the oil and drain it on a paper towel.
Lay seaweed on a flat surface. Spread a layer of cooked sushi rice over the seaweed, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Arrange the fried chicken strips and vegetables on top of the rice.
Roll the seaweed tightly around the filling, using a rolling mat or your hands to press and shape the roll. Repeat with the remaining seaweed sheets and filling ingredients.
Now cut the rolls into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife. Serve the chicken tempura roll with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Enjoy!
