Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Zax Sauce see recipe below
Zax Sauce:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
For serving:
  • Lettuce chopped
  • Tomatoes diced
  • Pickles sliced
  • Ranch dressing

Method

  1. Use the knife and cut the chicken breasts into 1-2 inch strips. Put the Chicken strips into a large bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Marinate this at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet or deep fryer with enough vegetable oil to reach a depth of at least 2 inches. Heat the oil to 350°F.
  4. Remove the chicken strips from the buttermilk and coat them in the flour mixture.
  5. Carefully place the coated chicken strips into the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the breading is golden brown.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, mustard, honey, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to make the Zax Sauce.
  8. Serve the chicken fingers with the Zax Sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy!
